A Letter from the Editors: Thank You

Asha Waters and Hannah Zagar

For the past four years, we have poured our hearts and souls into yearbook; sometimes literal blood, sweat, and tears. Not every day was perfect, but then again nothing ever is. Countless deadlines, pages, and stories that seemed as if they would never be completed, but we did it. Now it is time to say goodbye. When we first stepped into room 411 four years ago, we had no clue what we were getting ourselves into. We were just two anxious, wide-eyed freshmen eager to jump into the world of journalism. Fast forward four years and now we are two older, and hopefully a little bit wiser, seniors reluctant to say goodbye. We will miss circle time, culture days, and bonding trips but we are proud of all that we have accomplished in our time here. There are so many things that we would like to say, but most importantly we would like you to know how thankful we are.

To Bondo and Sesh, thank you so much for entrusting us with such a big responsibility. Giving us the opportunity to not only be members of the yearbook staff but also serve as editors-in-chief for the Patriot Pages has been a privilege. We will never forget the memories we have made or lessons we have learned over the past four years. Both of you have taught us not only what it means to be leaders, but what it means to be a part of a family. There are not enough words in the world to express how grateful we are for this opportunity.

To the staff, we thank you. We know juggling both print and online media was not always easy, but you all always found a way to make it work. We know some days it seemed like deadline after deadline, page after page, story after story; but we did it. Together we made a yearbook AND a website! A special thank you to Cassi, our amazing copy editor. Thank you for your patience and dedication. Serving as a copy editor for two publications may not have always been easy, but you did it with grace. No matter how many stories we sent your way you always got them done. No matter how much ink or time it took we could always count on you to bring a story to life. By now we all know behind every great writer is a great copy editor checking for spelling errors and comma splices. We are so proud of every single one of you! Never stop working hard, we are so excited for what is in store for next year and we know each of you will do a phenomenal job.

To the student body, we thank you. Thank you for supporting the Patriot Pages. Thank you for reading, liking, sharing, commenting, and posting our stories. Most importantly, thank you for allowing us to share your stories. We are so excited to see your new editors-in-chief, Kenna McKinley and Madison Fendley, take the Patriot Pages to new heights.

For us, a chapter is closing, but another is just beginning. We have learned to FOCUS on who we are and who we want to be. We know that being a part of the yearbook staff was JUST ONE STEP toward something greater and WE THE PEOPLE of Pace High School are moving onto bigger and better things. THAT’S JUST it! Goodbyes are hard, but we are so thankful for the time that we have had here at Pace High and room 411 will always have a special place in our hearts. As always, GO PATRIOTS!
