People of Pace: Dylan Ervin

Dylan Ervin, a very active senior at Pace, is ready for the new tennis season to begin. This year, the practices began in the fall. He has played for three years, and one of his favorite aspects of the sport is the community. “The people I’ve met through the sport are all so amazing; to me the people can truly make or break the sport you play,” said Ervin. He is anticipating being placed in the top 5 on varsity, and this will give him the opportunity to truly compete with other schools.

Along with tennis, Ervin is involved in choir at the school and the Pensacola Children’s Chorus. Ervin has been in choir since the 5th grade and has grown his passion for it throughout the years. He loves performing. “The feeling of putting on a show for people is a feeling like no other,” Ervin said. He admits that he used to have bad stage fright but the encouragement that he has received from other members and leadership has allowed him to become far more comfortable and excited during performances. Throughout his time with the Pensacola Children’s Chorus, Ervin has been given the opportunity to sing his first solo in front of hundreds of people at the Saenger Theater. He has gained confidence and a great support system of friends and directors. Needless to say, Ervin is ready to finish his senior year strong.
